I’m on a journey to Xanadu. Are you gonna come with me?
No, it isn’t the actual city of Xanadu. It is the dream Xanadu, the city of prosperity, thought of to be a place of great beauty and luxury that brings contentment. It is the ideal place that we all dream of being. To be there means you have found success.
Marco Polo journeyed there spending 17 years as an employee of Kublai Kahn who used it as his summer capital. Polo brought back tales of Xanadu (actually called Shang-Tu) being such a great and magnificent city of riches that has fueled western imagination and has become the ideal place to be.
We all dream of being successful and long to find what it takes to achieve the dream life. I have decided to find it. The only problem is I don’t know where it is or how to get there. Is it a place where you arrive and shout from the mountain tops, “I Have Made It!”? Some say it is the journey itself that makes you successful, what you gain on the way.
I don’t know which it is but I’m going to find it. This blog is going to be about discovering the truth about it. One way or another I am going to rise above my current situation and try to find what it means to be truly prosperous and a success.
